Migrated our BE 2012 server using the steps in the article below. We moved from a Win2K8 R2 Enterprise OS to Win2K8 R2Standard OS for licensing reasons. Everything seemed to migrate successfully except for the storage devices which are simply network drives/shares. In the BE console on the new BE server, the storage pools, that were on the old BE server, are there and the properties of the storage pools show the related storage devices. The problem is that the storage devices do not show up as individual devices on the storage tab of the BE console, so I cannot edit the properties or even use them with the migrated backup jobs. I tried renaming the old BE server and taking it offline, then renaming the new BE server to the old BE server name, but I could not log into BE using the old or new name after that. I put the new name back into place so now I'm back at square one again. I thought about just configuring new storage devices with new names but I'm concerned about how that will affect my ability to restore existing backed up data that is on these drives. Ideally, I would like to get some help on how I can get this migrated BE server to recognize the storage devices again. https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH129826.html Thank You, RA907Views0likes3CommentsThe job failed with the following error

Often the question of what is the different states of MbxArchivingState and MbxExchangeState in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table. The Archiving State translates as follows: 0 = Not Enabled 1 = Enabled 2 = Disabled 3 = Re-Link To view the Archiving State you can use the following:Disk backups - automatic removal of expired files
I have a large disk storage that I do my backup to disk on then from there, backup to tape. I have an expiration date of 5 days. Question, what program does this cleanup and why does it work sometime and not other times?? Also, is there a place that you can set this program to run (specific date)? (This is a crosspost from the Netting Out NetBackup blog) I'm very pleased to announce that the next Maintenance Release for NetBackup 7.5 is now available! NetBackup 7.5.0.6 is the sixth maintenance release for NetBackup 7.5. It is a cumulative release containing fixes and content from 7.5.0.1 through 7.5.0.5. In addition, this release contains almost 600 additional fixes (bringing the total fixes in 7.5.0.6 to over 1700!) including the most commonly downloaded EEBs, several customer escalations, and internal engineering defects. NetBackup 7.5.0.6 includes the following proliferations and enhancements: YES, Windows Server 2012/8 is now supported! db2 10.1 (snapshot support; streaming support was added in 7.5.0.5) Exchange 2013 Hyper-V 2012 SharePoint 2013 SAP HANA client support - see this blog post for more information To download 7.5.0.5, please visit the following page: NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Download Links http://symantec.com/docs/TECH204644 (link is fixed - sorry about that!) This is a MAINTENANCE Release for NetBackup (as opposed to a Release Update) - it can ONLY be applied on top of NetBackup 7.5. (If you are currently running 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, or 7.1.0.x, you will need to upgrade to 7.5 before you can apply 7.5.0.6.) Please note that maintenance releases are CUMULATIVE - that means that 7.5.0.6 contains all product fixes included in 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.2, 7.5.0.3, 7.5.0.4 AND 7.5.0.5. If you are currently running NetBackup 7.5, you may apply the 7.5.0.6 maintenanace release without installing 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.3, 7.5.0.4 or 7.5.0.5. In fact, if you are still running NetBackup 7.5, we would HIGHLY encourage applying 7.5.0.6! To check to see if your particular Etrack is resolved in NetBackup 7.5.0.6, please refer to these Release Notes: NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Release Notes http://symantec.com/docs/DOC6396 The NetBackup 7.5 Late Breaking News has also been updated to reflect newly released fixes in 7.5.0.6 for some of our highest visibility issues: NetBackup 7.5 Late Breaking News http://symantec.com/docs/TECH178334 --3.9KViews5likes27CommentsEV10 - get location of item from savesetid

Hi, I keep running into problems connecting to clients/servers that have firewalls running. Does anyone have a COMPLETE portlist of TCP/UDP ports that should be open, so that I can do ALL possible Netbackup actions imaginable? We are using Netbackup 6.5.6 and 7.1 in a full Windows environment. I would like to put a generic firewall ruleset that is the sameon all clients, so that Netbackup will never everbe bothered by the firewalls again... Hope someone has this information available!
