Cannot mount the windows PE image (SDR creation)
I'm trying to create a new simplified disaster recovery (SDR) disk (on 2 machines, actually). I get the error, "cannot mount the windows PE image. You may have insufficient privileges for the storage location C:\Users\<account>\AppData\Local\Temp\SDRStaging" I'm even running Backup Exec logged in as the service account we use for Backup Exec, and I'm running BE as an admin. Thoughts? Server 1: BE Version 16.0, 1142.1659, Windows Server 2016 Server 2: BE Version 20.6, 1188.2718, Windows Server 2016
need help to configures hyper-v server backups
A little background infomation: I am in the process of upgrading our BackUp Exec server and backups. We were on version 2012. We are upgrading to BackUp Exec 16. I built a new Windows Server, OS 2012r2 and installed the Backup Exec 16 software without an issues. I have a few physical servers that aren't VM host. I comfigure them. All are backing up without issue. As for the VM Host and virtial machines, I'm wanting to use the new features so I can use file/folder-level Granular Recovery Technology (GRT). I'm just not sure how ro back up the VM's so I can do this and use Simple Disadter Recovery too. In otherwords, I want to be able to recover the whole VM and/or a file from that VM. What is the correct way to do this? As so, when I configure the backup, when do I need to capture the Host Components? I have included a screenshot of what I'm trying to do. Just not sure if I need to have 2 backups, one for SDR and one for GRT. Any advice or instruction on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Regards, ABBEadminError - Create SDR - DRMTable
Hello friends, I come for your help. I'm doing some tests on Veritas 20.1. Create a full backup of the C: drive and the system status, all good. I will create a recovery disk after a disaster, everything goes well to the point of creating the ISO, I get the following error: Error opening "C: \ Users \ cesar \ AppData \ Local \ Temp \ SDRStaging \ CustomSDRD1 \ AMD64 \ System32 \ BkupExec \ drmtable "System error message: Security pack specific error. Simplified Disaster Recovery Disk_Drivers
Hi. I'm creating aSDR for a W2008R2 Dell PE510 file server running BEX 2014. I want to make sure it is correct. I wastrying to add Dell network card and SAS controller drivers downloaded from their website and oem#.inf drivers stored on the server, but now I am not sure if I need to do thisor if they are automatically added to the SDR image by the wizard. When I try to add the drivers i get a few messages for the different drivers like "A newer or same version of the driver already exists in the database". Are installed drivers of the backed up server already automatically populated into the SDR by the wizzard? What type of drivers should be added to the list (eg. i have an external tape drive attached to one of the controllers)? Tnx...Backup Exec 15 - SDR Restoration
Hi, We have a computer running in windows 7, used 24/7. The computer suddenly hangs up (network-NG, remote connection-NG). To resume its operations, we must forced restart the computer. We cannot pull-out the said computer since it is used in the production area. Now, i'm planning to replace the unit. To replace a new unit with all of its configuration being retained, i'm planning to use BE15 SDR and restore it to a new computer. Question: While restoring, will there be a computer and IP address conflict? Turning off the computer during the SDR Resrtoration (restoring to new computer) is not possible since the computer is greatly needed in the production area. Thanks!
Backup Exec 15 - Do I need to backup BE SQL Databases for SDR
We have a daily backup job that is set to backup the System State, C: (system) and S: (file storage) drives. No SQL databases are backed up and SDR has been enabled for this backup job. The job completes nightly without error. In the job configuration, BE states that SQL databases have been detected but are not selected for backup. The only such database we are aware of is the one used by Backup Exec. Does this database actually need to be selected for backup, to completely backup this server, for use by SDR? The system is a single file server Windows Server 2012 with BE15 backing up to a tape loader.
