NetBackup 7.5.0.6 (NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 6) is now available!
(This is a crosspost from the Netting Out NetBackup blog) I'm very pleased to announce that the next Maintenance Release for NetBackup 7.5 is now available! NetBackup 7.5.0.6 is the sixth maintenance release for NetBackup 7.5. It is a cumulative release containing fixes and content from 7.5.0.1 through 7.5.0.5. In addition, this release contains almost 600 additional fixes (bringing the total fixes in 7.5.0.6 to over 1700!) including the most commonly downloaded EEBs, several customer escalations, and internal engineering defects. NetBackup 7.5.0.6 includes the following proliferations and enhancements: YES, Windows Server 2012/8 is now supported! db2 10.1 (snapshot support; streaming support was added in 7.5.0.5) Exchange 2013 Hyper-V 2012 SharePoint 2013 SAP HANA client support - see this blog post for more information To download 7.5.0.5, please visit the following page: NetBackup 7.5.0.6 Download Links http://symantec.com/docs/TECH204644 (link is fixed - sorry about that!) This is a MAINTENANCE Release for NetBackup (as opposed to a Release Update) - it can ONLY be applied on top of NetBackup 7.5. (If you are currently running 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, or 7.1.0.x, you will need to upgrade to 7.5 before you can apply 7.5.0.6.) Please note that maintenance releases are CUMULATIVE - that means that 7.5.0.6 contains all product fixes included in 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.2, 7.5.0.3, 7.5.0.4 AND 7.5.0.5. If you are currently running NetBackup 7.5, you may apply the 7.5.0.6 maintenanace release without installing 7.5.0.1, 7.5.0.3, 7.5.0.4 or 7.5.0.5. In fact, if you are still running NetBackup 7.5, we would HIGHLY encourage applying 7.5.0.6! Hi, I keep running into problems connecting to clients/servers that have firewalls running. Does anyone have a COMPLETE portlist of TCP/UDP ports that should be open, so that I can do ALL possible Netbackup actions imaginable? We are using Netbackup 6.5.6 and 7.1 in a full Windows environment. I would like to put a generic firewall ruleset that is the sameon all clients, so that Netbackup will never everbe bothered by the firewalls again... Hope someone has this information available! Hi Experts, Pls help with the below queries. 1:- How could we ensure that our backup policy was successfull if we dont haveno jobs in activity monitor(Its blank)but we can run commands on the server. 2:- What happen to the images that are left incomplete in the tape and when do these get deleted? Where is the option to change it? Lets say a server backup is running it wrote 2 gb data on tape and it got failed after leaving 2 gb incomplete image on tape? 3:- We have a flat filepolicy which has one server and 3 streams. I need to check ifits parent stream got successfull or not. I checked in catalog but found 2 streams got successfull. Suppose we have 15 streams so i dont think we need to check in catlog for each stream to ensure backup got successfull or not. There might be some way to check if its parent stream is successfull we may consider this poilcy as successfull. (We dont have jobs in activity monitor) Thanks & Regards,Solved2.5KViews1like6CommentsExchange GRT Restore send notification to user
Looking for suggestions on how to turn off notifications on mailbox restores when using the Exchange GRT with a Netbackup 7 environment. While this feature is useful when the user requests a restore, it's not so good when the restore is requested by Security. Any thoughts? Below is the message that shows up: Subject: Symantec NetBackup initialization message for mailbox restore. Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers has restored one or more items to your mailbox. After verifying that all requested items have been restored, you can delete this message. For more information, contact your system administrator and refer to the job history for job Currently running NBU 7 on Windows 2K8. Is this an Exchange setting or Netbackup? It gets sent from the service account that was created.1.4KViews0likes3CommentsHow to restore SAP HANA database to different client with different db name

I have a situuation whereby the link between two NBU sites / domains has been inactive for some time, and the link has now been upgraded and is available again. I suspended secondary operations on the SLP's in the primary site during this period, and as a result now have a couple of thousand images awaiting replication to the secondary site. Before I re-enable the secondary operations on the SLP's I want to ensure that I don't have hundreds of replicaton jobs starting at once, as I have seen this in the past and the system becomes unresponsive. How can I limit the amount of replication jobs that will be submitted as I want to limit this to a manageable number (say 20 concurrent). I know I can limit the amount of streams on the Storage Server / Disk Pool, but I am afraid that the replications will all kick in and the backups will not have any available streams to work with. Bottom line - I want to continue to allow my backups to run but also have a limited number of replication jobs running concurrently allongside them. Any input appreciated.
