Puredisk server Catalog restore
So let's say I have a local master server "master1" and a local media server "media1" and a remote media server (DR) "remotemedia1". I currently have both "media1" and "remotemedia1" set up as puredisk server with MSDP. So when I do catalog backup, I have my 1st copy backup to "media1" then duplicate to "remotemedia1". Now, let's say my local environment has been completely destroyed - so we need a DR ! ** 1st thing I do is def rebuilding my master server. Now I will have to connect "master1" to "remotemedia1" .... since master1 is newly rebuilt, the previous relationship was broken. Does anyone know how I can reestablish this so I can do Catalog restore from the puredisk pool of remotemedia1? Any reference is appreciated. thanks!!Solved3.3KViews0likes1CommentSystem state failures in pure disk

Hello, This is my first post. We have two NetBackup 7.0.1 servers. Both W2008R2 ent. Both VMs. We use MSDP feature. Both servers have 10Tb drives to hold images. Catalog backup jobs are configured. Key file is copied over the network to another DC. Catalog restore process is clear for me. The question is: Are there any additional steps to restore CRDB? 10Tb drives? Could you please provide best practice/manual? Thank you in advance.Solved2.1KViews0likes2CommentsImages Not expiring off Disk Netbackup 7.6
Hello I have noticed that one of our PureDiskVolume deduplication disks has filled up (above 95% water mark). I have expired some old images that are no longer required, I have done this but the space has not been cleaned up. I understand there is another command that needs to be run to reclaim the space but am unsure what command to safely use as I do not want to remove all my other backups on the disk. I only need the images I have expired space re claimed Hope someone can help Thanks In advance!Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsNBU-Duplication issue
hi guys, i'm facing a strange issue when duplication images from my AdvDisk... if i run backup with my Netbackup 7.5.0.5 to Advdisk its successful and duplicating simultaniously to puredisk the performance is OK up to (87000KB/SEC) if i run backup with my Netbackup 7.5.0.5 to Advdisk its successful and duplicating simultaniously to tape LTO4 the performance is ok OK up to 70000KB/SEC) BUT if duplication to both PDDO and LTO4 in the same time the performance is 43 000 KB/SEC i spent many days reading the logs ( nbsl, nbpem, nbjm nbrb , nbstserv ,vxlogcfg etc ) i couldnt find any errors or a source limiting the performance all what seems to me strange is when writing to tape the bptm reporting in more than 300 lines : write_data: writing block shorter than BUFF_SIZE, 65536 bytes write_data: writing short block, 65536 bytes, remainder 0 seems it's related to what previously found : DUP_BLKSIZE ( in bptm) are by default set to 65536 (64K) so when we duplicate to tape the read requests pass the data in 64 , and the backups written to Advanced disk normally on the disk array the data is being written in 512K if it’s not more, if we will duplicate by passing data in 64K which is insufficient because it will require more (Input/Output Per Second) = the performance decreasing ….. IS it related ???? the Master is an AIX, Appliances 5220 any help sugesstion ? thank you in advance778Views0likes0CommentsJava Console not restoring files to copy of original server, only to master media server
We are trying to restore a full server backup from the Java console on one of our media server, (not master media server). The backup was taken as "Standard", and we are using Standard as the restore option. We direct the restore not to the original server, but to a hyper VM. In the restore log, the job tries to restore the files to the master media server.555Views0likes1CommentUnable to start postgresql 8.3 service for MSDP

I have a Windows 2008 SP2 built server running one of my MSDP disk units. If this Windows server has to be rebuilt (e.g. "upgrade" to Win2008 R2); can I do so and retain the MSDP unit and it's content? The MSDP unit is contained on a separate drive hanging of a seperate disk controller and it's content is replicated to another MSDP unit on another Media server. I woudl rebuild the server with a new version of the OS; re-install Netbackup but then how to configure pdde to point at the MSDP unit? I guess the same question applies if an MSDP server ever dies and has to be rebuilt for whatever reason. Thanks in advance546Views0likes2Comments
