VCS stop and service group offline quesiton
I have a quick question regarding service group offline. We only want to bring up/down services when we execute hagrp -online/-offline manually. When VCS shutdown, we don't want to bring up the service offline. I know if we freeze it won't go to offline entry. Do we have any other option? For an exmaple, for only we can disable the autostart. Hi Team, Please suggest, if I have 4 nodes and due to some network issue suddenly all 4 nodes down. 3 nodes came up but 1 node is not coming up. Continuity after a failover
Hi, I am new to clustering. 1. If I create a cluster with 2 nodes and shared storage, and keep my application running on node1, client applications will be connecting to my application on node1. In the event of a failover, when the application starts on node2, will the client applications need to change the IP address to which they were connecting? Or will VCS show a single IP address to the external world so that client applications do not need to be reconfigured? 2. Can I configure VCS to start my application on node2 automatically in the event of failover, without any manual intervention? I originally posted this in the NetBackup forum but it seems to be a VCS issue that is the root of the problem: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/install-clustered-master-server-greyed-out I am trying to set up a test NBU 7.6.0.1 master server cluster with VCS on Windows Server 2008 R2but the option to "install a clustered master server" is greyed out. I have built2 new servers, installed SFHA / VCS 6.0.1and configured disks / volumes / disk groups / VVR replication. The VCS installation has not been modified or customised in any way as from my understanding the NBU installation will create its own service group. I have carried out the initial configuration and added the remote cluster node. Within cluster explorer, the defaultClusterService service group is all up and running, the global cluster option is enabled andthe remote cluster status also shows that the other cluster is up. Hi, Suppose, a resouce got faulted in a SG and I need to make it online. Shall I have to do in this way? hagrp -clear <group> [-sys] <host> <sys> and then online the service group hagrp -online <group> -sys <sys> OR by this way? 1.Flush the SG, hagrp -flush <group> -sys <system> 2.Clear the faulted resource hares -clear <resource> [-sys] 3.Online it, hares -online <resource> [-sys] Do flushing of the SG required?
