VMware backup failures with status code 200
Having a heck of a time trying to figure this out. 14 of my 21 VMware policies are failing with a status code 200 for some reason. Credentials are good and we can do a test query with no issues. Windows 2012 VMware Backup Host 5.5 Update 2 7.6.0.2 and I verified the VDDK is 5.5.0 I have attached all of the logs that would actually run. I cranked VXMS up to 5, but no log was created as I am guessing it just doesnt get that far into the process. It appears that the creation of an infinite number (up to the point of "drive full")of IMG folders (when using B2D to back up Exchange Server) is a known issue. Unfortunately, I have learned this only after creating 23 IMG folders of approximately 11 GB each. I cannot find a method within Backup Exec for deleting these IMG folders and when I attempt a manual deletion using Windows Explorer I get the error message "Error Deleting File or Folder - cannot delete ese.dll: Access is denied." I must get rid of these blankety-blank things before I run out of disk space. Based on the number of related posts I'm guessing somebody must've figured out an answer to this problem. I just can't seem to find it posted here. Thanks in advance.3.5KViews0likes16CommentsLTO5 tape is showing incorrect capacity
Hi There, I'm new to this forum, I use Backup Exec 2010 with an IBM LTO5 tape drive and we have three tapes that are showing a capacity of 35.4gb. If I try to use them it does indeed become full after 35.4gb. I've tried a full erase and everything I can think of and they're stuck at this capacity. I know it's only 3 tapes, not the end of the world... But I'm really curious as to what has happened to them. They weren't new, I think they came with the drive and had been opened. Any insight greatly appreciated!978Views0likes6CommentsReconfiguring Tape Library Partitions
I recently took over admin duties at a company running Backup Exec 2010 using a Dell TL4000 tape library with two drives and 44 tape slots. The previous admin is gone but left the TL4000 partitioned with5 partitions. The first two each have one slot, the next two have three each and the remaining slots (9 through 44) are in the last partition. I need to change this configuration but I'm wondering what effect the changes would have on existing jobs that use the current configuration...will they update automatically? I don't want to make any precipitous changes that could cause problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved1.5KViews0likes7CommentsHow to identity Status of a backup using Netbackup CLI ?
I launch 'bpbackup' command in my program and it just gives the return code. There is no way to know the corresponding JobId. Before I launch the next backup, I want to check the status of the Previous backup and make some decision. 'bpimagelist' command can be used with 'keyword' as filter so that I can search my backup job uniquely. Problem is, it only lists the Successful backups. 'bpdbjobs' command can be used to list out all jobs (successful, failed, in progress) but there is no way to uniquely find the backup job because it does not support filtering the result with 'keyword' attribute. Also Want to filter the status of individual client what I still not able to get using bpdbjobs. Any help is highly appreciated. I have face the below issue many times. Operating systame - Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2. Backup Exec 2012 having SP 3 installed. Most of the time when we restart the backup exec services, that time "Backup exec remote agent service" get stuck in stopping state. And in this stage we fail to stop and then start the service. Even taskkill command also desen't work to kill the beremote.exe process. And in this situation every time we require to reboot the server and then we found all backup exec services in running state properly. Does any one have solution on this? Regards, Santosh Pawar.1.3KViews1like4Comments
