Same Media server, new storage
I have a relatively new and unused Media Server VM connected successfully to our master. For a datastore I was initially using a (local to the VM) virtual disk. The next day I noticed that all of my backups had failed, because the virtual disk for the backups had fatal problems and was keeping the VM from booting. I removed the disk, confirmed that the Media server could connect and added new local storage, but backup failures make me believe that the new storage (slightly smaller and mounted using the same mount point) is not successfully configured. The Java console confirms that the media server is in successful contact with the master. Can someone please describe the process I should be using to inform the master that the old storage on the media server is defunct and that new storage is available? How to configure RBAC
I've created a new user account in the master server to be used for logging into both the Java application and the new web UI. It worked in the java, but needs RBAC configuration in the web. Can someone guide me through RBAC configuration for this user account? The OS and NetBackup versions are Oracle Linux 8.9 and 10.3.0.1 respectively.

How do I know how much backup was made in the JOB?
I'm going to add a new client to the backup and I need to know the size of the backup that was made and monitor over the days what the size of the next backups will be throughout the week. How do I see the size of the backup made on the day in a virtual machine JOB? Does it always back up 29Gb? Is the saved backup 29Gb every time?

Netbackup Install and upgrade for large server fleet
Greetings, I'm a platform manager having to install and upgrade NBU for Linux and Windows. number of nodes are 10,000s. The version is 10.x What are the most effective ways to install and then do ongoing upgrades of NBU ? Is the answerfile option still a viable option ? can use automation tools like ansible. cheers MB

Discrepancy in Charged TB in NetBackup Deployment Utility
Hi Veritas Support, I am encountering a discrepancy in the charged TB for my 7-day Capacity Licensing Report (22nd May,2024 - 29th May,2024) generated by the NetBackup Deployment Utility. The 7-day report shows a significantly higher TB charged compared to the 35-day report(24th April, 2024 - 29th May, 2024). We perform one full backup per week and six incremental backups per week. After investigating, I found the following: 1. I checked the itemization tab and compared columns - Client Name, Policy Name, Policy Type, and Backup Image - to identify any duplicate rows with the same values across these columns, which could lead to overlapping and increased TB size. No exact duplicates were found. 2. Despite this, the discrepancy still persists, and I need assistance in understanding why the 7-day report shows such a high TB charged and how to accurately adjust for potential overlaps or other issues. Migrating from 1 server to a new server.
Has someone migrating from 1 server to a new server and changed hostnames? I have 2 server, 1 master, 1 media. And I need to migrate both to new hardware, but also change the hostnames (yay for policy changes). I've opened a ticket with support to ask them how to go about this, and they just sent me to https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100054083 And said use this tool "it's easy" Has anyone actually done this? I know "it is suggested you hire a consulting company to do this work" if I could, I wouldn't be here asking. :)
