Restore to a different location

Hello all. Can you help me please with restore

Netbackup 8.3

Source client: abc1

Destination client: xyz1

Policy type: MS Windows

Need restore on xyz1

Is that correct path: \\xyz1\C:\Folder1\File1 ?

  • Had you seen the video link I post ?
It explains what to do to restore a file to an alternate server.
It is windows BAR GUI but Java BAR GUI has the same functionality.  Open one of them from the master server and do the restore.

And this is the BAR manual
    https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/doc/25435676-134108412-0/id-SF640591031-134108412

EDIT: I understand that the video is not easy to follow as it does not have audio.
Use master's server Java. Go to BAR (backup archive and restore and select the upper right icon with the hand

Do not change the master server, select the source, destination client and policy type.

be sure that all systems are correct under each headline

select the files are press "restore"

now select the path you want the restore must go ( original path or deferent path)

    press start restore

    My suggestions are:
Do not select the "override existing files". this will help you in case of error.
    Do the netbackup Administration training

But if path like C:\Folder1\File1 will be restored on abc1

  • Source and destination are the same operation system?
By default NBU display  \\xyz1\C:\Folder1\File1 but like StefanosM said is just put the correct path and everything is gonna fine.
