NetBackup backwards compatibility

Hello All,

 

Does anyone know if NetBackup media server version 6.5.6 is compatible with master server 7.1.0.4?

    No need to log support call.

    6.5 also means 6.x.

    Also listed in 7.1 Release Notes on p. 41:

    Above-mentioned TECH29677 shows that 6.5 media server is indeed supported with 7.x master server.

    It also contains this warning:

    Note: Support for the Netbackup 6.x product line is scheduled to end October 2012.

    Hello Marianne,

    I might open a case with tech support. I think 6.5.6 is indeed supported because it is a release update of minor release. It does not make sense to me.

    Media server 6.5.x is compatible with Master server 7.1.x
