again tape drives problem ,control=TLD , ready = NO

I have a NetBackup 7.7.1 master server with a tape library that has 4 tape drives. From the NetBackup Console I see 2 tape drives are active and 2 are ready and have a tape in, the other two drives are NO ready and Control=TLD

  • It's not a drive problem. "Media in use" means, NetBackup wants to use specific media but it is currently being used by another backup. This indicatest that you need more media to be made available in the pool that the backup uses.

Just for the record - there is nothing with drive status in "control=TLD , ready = NO".

control=TLD means the drive is UP and under TLD control.

, ready = NO means that no tape is loaded.

  • add some more media in specific pool which is selected in policy and also please check the maximum concurrent drives for that specific storage unit.
