EV 9.0.4R1 company leaver archive doesn't run ?

Hi People,

Based on this Tech article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67757 I have set the immediate archive for people that have just left the company for both enabled and disabled AD accounts in the specific OU, somehow when I open their mailbox through OWA it doesn't shows that ALL of the email item is archived.

Can anyone please assist me in making this arhcive policy to work ?

  • is your provisioning group with the zero day policy at the top of the list? in other words, is it #1 in the ranking? if not, then it probably wont work the way you want it to.

  • Hello John,

    Some things to check:

1 - is your provisioning group targeting the correct people? Verify the provisioning report shows the people you think need to be in there.

2 - In the VAC, expand to Targets, rightclick Exchange, select Display Policies assigned to mailbox, and enter the name of someone you know should have this policy. Is he listed as having this policy?

3 - I have this query that checks items archived for a specific provisioning group (see attachment). You can then see if it did something.

4 - how many items in the mailbox(es)? Can it be that it did not archive everything, because there is more to archive than can be done in 1 run?

    5 - Check Quadro-Tech ArchiveLeavers tool :-)

6 - Can you verify the mailboxes are not over quota, and enabled for archiving?

7 - can you post the exact settings in your policy?

    Thanks!

  • Is there anything specific about the mails that haven't archived? Eg.. age? Message Class? Unread status? Folder that they are in?

  • Hi Gertjan,

Running the SQL script that you attached give no result, I have changed the PTG.DisplayName = 'Zero Day Archive Policy' as per the Exchange Policy Properties name.

From: Enterprise Vault | Directory.... | EVSITE | Policies | Exchange | Mailbox | the policy for the company leaver's name.

  • Hello John,

If correct, you should see in the Provisioning Report (provided you genrate the full report) that mailboxes are not updated due to them being provisioned already.

If you place the provisioning group as first in the list (rightclick provisioning groups, move up (I assume you know...)) then rerun provisioning, that should do the trick.

    Regards,
