Unable to create B2D storage.

Hi all,

I triying to create a B2D using configure storage > Disk based storage > Disk storage > Named > Network shared storage. when I press next, I received a message in red: "The path appears to be an invalid path. Please ensure the server name and share name are correct". I tried using UNC and IP with the same error.

If I try to open using Windows explorer I can see it (\\DD_Enterprise_Sub\backup-sap). If I try to map it, I can do. I added the path to hosts file. In Windows works fine, but I cannot create under BE. If i try to create a file inside the Windows explorer, it is created.

The destination storage is a DataDomain and is presented to server. The server is under vMware and the OS is Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise. The version of BE is 2014 in a V-Ray edition.

What I doing bad? I search in forums without results.

Regards,

  • Hi,

Thank you for try to assist me in this case. I can solve the problem. My error was that I installed BE with the administrator user (this action take the credentials to run services of BE). I changed the user/credentials to the user than has the rights to open the network shared resource.

    Thanks to all.

  • Did you follow the procedure given in this document which is still valid for BE 2014?
