NBUITA - 11.4.x service account password change

Greetings,

Each year, we have to change the service account password. Every year, there is "some problem" that pops up when we change the password for NBUITA. LDAP account and that change works everywhere except for the WebUI login. What am I missing with the account password that let's me log back into the web gui?

I did change the password for my collector policy to talk from the portal to the collector. It's just this blasted web gui login failure. :)

  • BTW, I did try the updateuser.sh script and after it threw "several" errors and complaints, it came with the password updated. Still no go on the login to the web ui.

Just to clarify Dennis, you’re not talking about the default “admin” account right? This is some other service account associated with your ITA environment ?

Just want to make sure you didn’t set your admin account up for LDAP or something. =)

Correct. This is a service account setup as the superuser for Aptare/NBUITA. We did get it working as there is a new link in the web GUI that refers to authentication. This is yet another piece of the puzzle that I'm still sorting through the box of pieces to get the final picture painted. :-)

  • what "service account" is changing...the LDAP/DN user that is used to bind to the LDAP or the user account for the user login for a portal user (it could be that 1 is used for both).  If you are changing the LDAP service account that is used to bind LDAP, you will not be able to login as an LDAP user until this password is updated.  You may need to login as a local (non LDAP user) to correct the LDAP user/password, then your LDAP should be working again.

This is one of the main use case for allowing LDAP and LOCAL logins simultaneously.
