Failover use Veritas Resiliency Platform
Hi everyone, Through research, I found that the Veritas Resiliency Platform solution is very suitable for my existing infrastructure. However I have only rehearsed the failover manual, I am in need of a fully automated process. Example When the VM on the DC side is down, it will go up on the DR site. Please send me the documentation to do it. Thank you so much and Have a nice day.HieuNV42 years agoLevel 11.1KViews0likes2CommentsUnable to discover DATASTORE assets.
Hi,Everyone, I configure the recovery from local data center (VMWARE) to off-site data center (VMWARE) on VRP platform, with NBU AIR as Copy Manager;; When configuring, managing and monitoring assets, if you choose the assets of the target data center, you can find the host assets in the cluster, but not the DATASTORE assets. Do you have any good suggestions for me? See the attachment for my detailed operation steps.gang3 years agoLevel 3838Views0likes0CommentsTrial version setup
Hello, I am trying to setup the resiliency manager appliance available through the trial version (3.6) for vmware servers into a private data centre. I am stuck at the initial step of setting up the host network, showing error related to DNS server configuration. Although, I did check the configuration of DNS server and the hostname to be used for the RM and seems everything correct still couldnt get to understand details to why the setup is failing everytime. Reading the docs I can understand that after you create a resiliency group you need to start it if you want that VRP starts tracking the resource. During the starting process VRP tries to register the resource in the vcenter that means it cannot be already there to complete correctly the process. Does it mean that I have to deregister, and therefore stop the production service, all the VM involved after to have created a resiliecy group? It looks a littel bit awkward... What I didn't get correctly? Thanks a lotSolvedmauog_3 years agoLevel 31.5KViews0likes2CommentsWhy NB agent is eliminated ??
Hi. At the moment that deployed the VRP agent in a discovery host, the installation scripts remove the NB agent...my solution was reinstall the NB agent again....But I´m not sure if other software or applications are going to be eliminated....Do you think is a issue in the VRP scripts agent installation??819Views0likes0CommentsFailing at reharsal operation: cannot lookup rhearsal Port Group/VLAN
I was doing some test with VRP. I set up a test resiliency group based on Netbackup AIR replication which protect a single Vmware machine. When I try to reharse the resiliency group I got this error: "The rehearsal network mapping between source and target Port Group/VLAN is not defined for virtual machine(s)." So I my understand is that I have to map the production Port Group/VLAN with the rhearsal Port Group/VLAN in the secondary dtacenter. Unfortunately I cannot lookup in the list the Port Group/VLAN which are present in the vcenter. What I'm doing wrong?Solvedmauog_4 years agoLevel 31.3KViews0likes1CommentHow can I check VRP in "NOT LICENSE MODE"
We are checking the integration with NETBACKUP and VRP....we know we don´t need an license for this integration. You can see the next link: https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100048680 We installed RM , IMS and NETBACKUP and integrate them. But there is not any NOTE about the license. Reports NO get information about this point. Do you know where can I identify that the LICENSE MODE?? Thanks in advanced.Solvedpaco20004 years agoLevel 31.7KViews0likes3CommentsSynmantec Backup Exec 15 Restore log
I am currently using Symantec Backup Exec 15. I have completed a restore and some unwanted files have been restored from a previous backup. Is there a way for the job log to show the specific files that have been backed up and their locations from a restore?Cos14 years agoLevel 11.1KViews0likes1CommentVRP supported DNS solutions
Hi. I'm just starting my training on this solution and I've come across VRP's capability of modifying DNS records when performing DR/rehersal operations. I'm not a network guy, so I apologize in advance if my question makes no sense. The documentation mentions that VRP is compatible with either Windows DNS or BIND, but it is not clear to me if devices such F5 BIG-IP that can serve as DNS servers can be integrated with VRP so that whenever a DNS record has to be updated, the whole process can be managed by VRP. Any guidance on this topic is highly appreciated.Solved
